Here we have a rare deadstock NOS Penney’s 100% Rayon Hand Washable Medium (15 - 15 1/2) Made in Japan Hawaiian shirt!
This shirt is beautiful and you will be so fortunate to own this one.
Many collectors know that the mid 1960’s were some of the best years for Penney’s Hawaiian shirt designs.
I collected this years ago and always thought someday I would open up a Tiki bar!
Well, now, even if I did, I’m too fat to wear it!
So, it’s your lucky day!
Hang tag reads: “Penney’s Always First Quality Men’s HAND SCREENED PRINT 100% RAYON FUJIETTE SPORT SHIRT MADE IN JAPAN. Cut over Penney’s proportioned patterns for perfect fit.....and tailored in Japan to our exacting standards. HAND WASHABLE See reverse side for care suggestions.”
Other side reads: “HAND WASHABLE WASH.....separately by hand. USE...lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. (Do not bleach) DRY ...away from heat or sun (Do not wring).”
The shirt sports a spread collar, horizontal button holes, neck loop, two non-matching chest pockets, and square bottom.
The pattern is of a countryside of trees in the fall foliage and trees, with scenes of parks, waterfalls, people rowing in boats, walking and sightseeing in parks, in an abstract pattern. Very beautiful.
The colors are light and dark greens, blues, light and dark gray, black, gold, browns, oranges, and yellow.
Since the shirt is pinned, I can’t provide measurements.

I purchase boxes and shipping materials and charge the buyer for them at
cost. This does not show up in the Ebay shipping calculator. Neither does the insurance cost. So do not bid if you have a problem with it costing more that what is listed. I always find the best and cheapest shipper depending on the destination and size of the boxes. I have used FedEx, USPS and UPS. They are have their strengths and weaknesses.
