Description
For your consideration today is a fine quality, heavy, solid 10k yellow gold blue spinel ring by vintage jewelry manufacturers "Hallmark".  This company was founded in NYC in 1934, and this ring bears their maker's mark.
The stone in this ring is such a cool color--even nicer in person than the photos taken on this cloudy day depict. The ring is a class act.  It could be worn by a man or a woman, in its current finger size 7.5, or sized upward or downward by your jeweler to suit.
The blue spinel is most likely lab-created, with its brilliant royal blue.  It tests positive for spinel on the Presidium gem tester--it is NOT GLASS.  Lab created gemstones were popular in vintage rings.  It is rectangular in shape, measuring approximately 12 x 10 mm and is in excellent condition with no abrasion or scratches.  It's set in a top and bottom bezel, with open sides.  The setting is simplistic, with concave "V" shoulders which rise to meet the stone.
The face of this ring measures 1/2" by 3/8".  The ring is marked 10k with the "HALLMARK" maker's mark, and it weighs a hefty 6.2 grams.  It feels nice and sturdy on the hand.  It is a size 7.5 and can be sized by any competent jeweler.  It's in very good vintage condition!
